Six Phases of warm up - Pre match warm up

Scatter several cone markers around the warm-up area, at least one per player, random distance between markers, min 10yds, max 20yds.1)

1. Start off with players jogging from marker to marker, they do a 360' turn as they reach each marker
2) Player side steps to left to 1st marker (Clapping hands above head), player side steps to the right to 2nd marker, and so on alternating left, right from marker to marker

3) Players bring their knees up as they jog to 1st marker, kick heels up to butt (they can put their hands behind them and kick their hands) as they jog to 2nd marker, then alternating between markers

4) Player touches ground with left hand at 1st marker, player touches the ground with right hand at 2nd marker, player touches the ground with both hands at 3rd marker, jumps to head ball at 4th marker, and so on from marker to marker

5) Player jogs to 1st marker, sprints at half-pace to 2nd marker and so on alternating between markers

6) Player jogs to 1st marker, sprints at half-pace to 2nd marker, sprints at full pace to 3rd marker, and so on from marker to marker.

Next move to some ball workPlayers in two groups facing each other, about 20 yds apart, 1st player in one group has a ballPlayer with ball passes to 1st player in opposite groupa nd sprints to end of oposite group,

1) receiving player takes 1st touch across body before passing back with other foot (encourage receiving ball with foot the ball is played to)

2) receiving player takes 1st touch outside body line and passes to next player with same foot(encourage receiving ball with foot the ball is played to)

3) One touch passing

4) Move the players a bit further apart, say 30yds. For ease of explanation I'll call the groups A and B so players will be 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B etc., 1A has the ball1A passes to 1B, 1A moves forward about 5 yds at an angle (say to his right) 1B receives the ball and plays a return pass to 1A, 1B moves to his right at an angle, 1A plays a return pass to 1B who plays the ball to 2A, 1A goes to the back of group B, 1B goes to the back of group ANOTE: Players need to hold their runs otherwise if 1A moves too far forward and 1B moves too far forward then 1A will be passing the ball backwards.

5) Same as above but players move to their left after the 1st pass.

6) Players form a circle, 2 players in the middle, circle keepaway. Make sure the players inthe middle work as a pair, make sure they close down quickly, make sure every player has a turn in the middle. REALLY INCREASE THE INTENSITY AT THIS POINT

You can if you want take you GK and forwards aside at point 6and do a specialised warm-up for them

Dar Young Africans Vs Simba Sports club

Tommorow (saturday 31/10/2009) is one of the big days in Tanzanian Soccer. Tanzania's soccer giants Yanga (young Africans) and Simba will clash at the National stadium in Dar es Salaam. The match is expected to attract many spectators than usual, we expect revenue collections to be high. Actually we look forward to watching this big event. In the midst of expectation I can not stop myself from wondering what actually will happen tommorow. I wish to very advanced soccer tactics from the big teams, I wish to hear from TFF that they have collected as much as they expected as gate collection, I wish to see fair officiating of the match. I wish to mature and fair behavior from fans, i wish for a lot good things to happen. But I know one thing for sure: It is possible that I wont see any of my wishes coming true. It is possible to hear from TFF saying that they run deficit from the match collection. We may end up seeing the usual none fair play game from players, players from each team m...

PURPOSE OF DIFFERENT TACTICAL EXERCISES IN SOCCER

Dear readers I would like to take this opportunity to appologize for not updating information on this site for such long time. Today I just want to highlight purposes for some tactical exercises 2v1 ONE ACTS, ONE SUPPORTS, IN ATTACK OR WHEN DEFENDING. IN ATTACK, PLAYER WITH THE BALL COMMITS THE LONE DEFENDER THEN EITHER GOES PAST THEM OR PASSES TO THE SECOND ATTACKER. IN DEFENSE, NEAREST CHALLENGES, THE OTHER COVERS 3v1 IN DEFENSE, ONE CHALLENGES, ONE COVERS, THE THIRD BALANCES IN ATTACK, ONE COMMITS AN OPPONENT, ONE POSITIONS TO RECIEVE A POSSIBLE PASS, THE THIRD MAKES AN ATTACK RUN 4v2 DEFENDING - IS ABOUT THE 2 WORKING AS A PAIR TO CUT DOWN QUICKLY ANY POSSIBLE EASY SPACE FOR THE OPPONENT WITH THE BALL TO PASS TO ONE OF THE OTHER THREE ATTACKERS ATTACKING - IS ABOUT THE PLAYER WITH THE BALL HAVING THREE OPTIONS TO PASS IF THEY WISH TO (SUPPORT, PASS OPTIONS) 5v2 AS c. ONLY DEFENDING BECOMES MORE OF A POSITIONING TO FORCE THE BALL TO WHERE YOU CAN ATTACK IT FOT ATTACKING ITS ABOU...
